Andrew Feather has lived in and around Helmsley for most of his life. After training as chefs, he and his brother went to work for the family business, the Feathers Hotel, in the centre of the town.

He later moved to the Plough Inn in nearby Fadmoor, where he enjoyed further success. However, with his wife also working unsociable hours in the hospitality industry, Andrew decided to look for a job that fitted better with his young family.

He didn't have to look far. His old friend David Otterburn was just starting to seek out a suitable person to launch Ryeburn’s fledgling Belgian chocolate range.

A quick chat over a pint and the deal was sealed. David sent Andrew off to Belgium to train with the masters and on his return, Andrew set to work developing the flavours and ideas that now form the Ryeburn range of delicious Belgian chocolates.
